This is Forsyth's third solo record and it features a full-band sound with contributions from drummer Mike Pride, Forsyth's Peeesseye-mate Jaime Fennelly on harmonium, pianist Hans Chew and pedal steel player Marc Orleans (both of D. Charles Speer & the Helix), Koen Holtkamp (of Mountains) on synthesizer, trumpeter Nate Wooley, and Shawn Edward Hansen on organ in addition to Forsyth's layered guitar, bass, organ, and percussion.
Joseph Stannard, writing in Wire Magazine, has already labeled "Paranoid Cat" as "a rapturous transmutation of noise into light" in the tradition of cosmic Americana of Television to Jim O'Rourke.
