Since the winter of 2002 Worrytrain (Joshua Neil Geissler) has found sanctuary in composition with such acoustic inspirations as cello, piano, mandolin and other various stringed and percussive instruments to create organic pieces mapping the cinematicambient and experimental fields.
Worrytrain’s evolving cross genre style since his more subtle selftitled debut is most notable on his latest album “Fog dance, my moth kingdom“. This album attempts to balance modern classical composition with harsh electro noise, two fields that he feels can reach the same level of intensity and emotional dialect for those willing to try it and one that he plans to explore more in the future...
It's dark and brooding, but breathtaking nonetheless.
THE SILENT BALLET
Intense moments of reflection dominate the album, making Fog Dance, My Moth Kingdom often feel like a welcome shelter from the cacophonous storm of the modern world.
TEXTURA

Jodi Cave is a sound artist and musician from from the UK. He was braught up in a small town near Sheffield playing the clarinet, went to study music, and then in 2006 completed a research internship at the ircam in Paris.
Jodi’s work ecompasses studio-based electronics, laptop performance and instrumental composition. His first widely available full-length CD ‘for myria‘ was released on NY label 12k in June 2007.
There’s a sense that, rather than create some ridigly girded technological structure in which to house all of these objects and elements, he’s let them roll around as they please, finding their own place and direction.

LA FA CONNECTED
Existing under the current line up since 2005, la fa connected have released their first album ‘urban’ on april 2007. urban, yes, but not in the sense of a city, the lyrics are even written by someone who lives and works in a middle sized town, not a mega-city.
urban is about the speed of life, conflicts, exclusions, switching faces with displays.
it is better than a pill, knowing you can sometimes enjoy pastures the former members of bands like
def dump, tiger fernandez, spyglass, actarus and treasure chest at the end of the rainbow got together to share their experience with guitar oriented independent music.
their sound can be namedropped with washington dc posthardcore orientations, moods of modest mouse or melodic signals caught somewhere close to mock orange in 2007, the band shared the stage with groups like the arctic monkeys or marilyn manson.
there is something in the way they mix the ingredients so perfectly, something in the way this album flows with a steady curve and leaves you with a nice taste and a good feeling is something special …
MONOCHROM
VS YOU
Versus You is a four-piece indie/rock band from Luxembourg.
Their sound is similar to bands (and influences) like Jawbreaker, Jawbox, Jets to Brazil, Swervedriver, Pixies, Weezer, Nirvana or Weston. Versus You is Eric Rosenfeld on electric guitars, acoustic guitars and lead vocals, Giordano Bruno on bass, Jimmy Leen on guitars and backing vocals and Mike Lahier on drums .
Versus you was founded in 2005 by Eric Rosenfeld, Giordano Bruno and Pit Romersa, who left the band due to personal reasons in 2006 after a year and a long list of shows. The band played shows with bands like Nick Oliveri and the Mondo Generator, Defdump, Jordan and more. Versus you’s new drummer is called Mike Lahier who was a former member of the street rockers Nervous Chillin’.

After his musical work on the choreographic performance “Comme en plein jour” by Jean Baptiste André under the name PERCEVALMUSIC, Tony Chauvin (Guitar player for cult experimental duo Chevreuil) hits your local club with a new set-up.
Not forgetting his past shows and experiences with CHEVREUIL, Tony Chauvin pushes the limits further away with PERCEVALMUSIC. CHEVREUIL played in the middle of the audience with a quadraphonic guitar surrounding the drums, now the sound is hybrid between the guitar amps and the PA system giving more depth to his eloquent guitar sometimes pretending to be organ or a lead singer, other times a clavinet or a percussion instrument. This live performance surrounds the audience for an experience in-between acoustic and electric, carefulness and brutality, stability and chaos.
Sperimentale? Avanguardia?

Hailing from the likes of England, Belgium and Switzerland, Chapter are as much an amalgamation of sundry musical genres as they are a melting-pot of cultural identities. The band consists of Thierry van Osselt, songwriter and sound engineer, and Alexander Craker, singer and songwriter. Together they build craftworks of warm acoustic guitars, slow-yet-dynamic beats and gloomy folk melodies. The two multi-instrumentalists have configured a live band to deliver the material on the road with help from Alex Muller on bass and guitars (Seaplane Harbor, Equus), Franco Casagrande on guitars and backing vocals (Casagrande) and Christian Pahud on drums (Honey for Petzi, Larytta)

Weird, warm, and enigmatic, the Dust Dive returns from another long field trip with Claws of Light, the captivating follow-up to their critically acclaimed debut, Asleep or Awake Walk. “Like modern Huck Finn tales where the Dionysian clashes with the suburban” (in the words of D. Shawn Bosler of The Village Voice), the Brooklyn-based trio’s new covey of songs soars with gritty equanimity and uncommonly vivid and poetic verse, evoking an urban-pastoral world that is simultaneously arcadian and trashy, dreamy and deadpan, magical and everyday.
Claws of Light also maps a curiously wild and deranged sonic landscape, spanning from punk to classical, pre-war American folk to psych, gypsy violin to naturalist field recordings, and classic rock to outsider Americana. When asked to describe their sound, Dust Dive organist Ken Switzer, who spent much of his youth in the backwoods of rural western Massachusetts, offers up the label “experimental campfire music.”
The world's most stoic band, and one of my favorites.

Sleeping People have packed a lot into the two years since the release of their sleeper hit (no pun intended) of a debut album. The San Diego four-piece suddenly found themselves a trio after founding member Joileah Maddock moved to New York City. Almost immediately, Amber Coffman stepped in to replace Maddock. This lasted for little more than a year before Coffman also moved to NYC to join The Dirty Projectors. This prompted Maddock to rejoin the band, just in time to complete their second full-length, Growing. If you blinked, you probably didn’t notice a difference...
Temporary Residence is home to maybe the best instrumental rock music of the moment. Like label mates Tarentel and Grails, San Diego four piece Sleeping People harness the energies of bass, drums and guitars with furious and fantastic effect...
THE WIRE
Adrenalinici, schizofrenici, nevrotici, frenetici.

With roots deep in the rust-belt communities just south of Chicago, drummer/vocalist Scott Picco and bassist Rob Raspolich have been playing music together since their mid-teens. A few years later, they hooked up with Rich Fessler, first in a band called Hello Operator, before changing gears and re-emerging as Bear Claw, the two bass/drums tour de force we see today. Slow Speed: Deep Owls is their second record for Sick Room.
It was recorded and mixed by Steve Albini and Mastered by Bob Weston. Slow Speed: Deep Owls is a true record, in that it is a documentary effort to capture the band at a particular moment in time, against the backdrop of both the personal and political environment...
Yes. Thank you Bear Claw. Fucking kick ass. Two basses and a drummer, who, by the way, does the singing. It’s no godsheadsilo but is instead its own unique beast...
RAZORCAKE

The Ladybug Transistor story begins in Brooklyn, NY during the mid-1990s. Initially a recording project based around founding member Gary Olson’s collaborations with friends (as heard on their 1995 debut album Marlborough Farms, named after the band’s fabled Victorian Flatbush headquarters and studio), they soon caught the attention of Merge Records who released Beverley Atonale in 1997. It was around this time that Ladybug Transistor evolved into a proper band, which went on to craft the trilogy of The Albemarle Sound (1999), Argyle Heir (2001), and The Ladybug Transistor (2003). During this period The Ladybug Transistor developed and honed their trademark sound - a distillation of classic pop, characterized by a precise melodicism that is anchored by the restrained baritone of Olson.
Can’t Wait Another Day develops the Ladybug’s earlier indiepop and psychedelic sounds towards a sound which is more classic baroque pop, with a glorious melancholic lilt and the sort of impressive crooning you thought was lost decades ago.
SOUNDS XP
Stücke wie ?Here Comes The Rain?, ?For No Other? oder ?Broken Links? sind höchst gelungene Songperlen und zeitloser Indiepop.

Centenaire saw the light of day in 2006 with the gathering of Damien Mingus (my jazzy child) , Aurelien Potier, Axel Monneau (Orval Carlos Sibelius) and Stephane Laporte (domotic).
Their music is rooted in Folk, Progressive, Pop and Post music, and is being composed jamming for hours by the fireplace of an old
forgotten country house. They use a charango, guitars, a cello, an organ, the vibrastar, a tape echo, various percussions, as well as some fire, rivers,
litchis, chamanic plants, electric eels, insects, and about a hundred of other things… Centenaire’s music is meant to be a real-time, live, intimate experience.

After the release of two stellar EP’s, GREGOR SAMSA delivered us their debut full length 55:12 in 2006.
End of April 2008, their brand new album will be released worldwide by Kora (US) & Own Records (Europe). ‘Rest‘ is a nine song journey submerged in dreamy atmospherics. The band blurs the lines of ambient & indie, from heavy & dark one moment to hushed & serene the next, all while angelic vocals drift overhead.
The strongest moments sprinkled throughout 55:12 are those when softer, more peaceful sounds are contrasted with bursts of driving up-tempo melody.
